BACKGROUND

IAIA is the idea of Pierre Cerutti and Charles Lowe

Whilst working closely together in 2001 they realised that they had a need for other professionals, in other countries, upon who they could rely when expert local knowledge was required to complement the existing technical skills in the Cerutti Group.

The situation often arises for Insurers that when a claim is made in an overseas location, the Insurer has a dilemma :

Does he send his usual ‘trusted’ Adjuster in whom he has confidence but who he knows does not have the detailed local knowledge of customs, methods and language at the claim location, or does he entrust the job to his overseas correspondent who will instruct an unknown or little known ‘local’ Adjuster who may well have the local skills but is not aware of the conditions, customs and peculiarities of the ‘home’ policy ?

IAIA solves this dilemma !

From the left :  Jean-Francois Tichit (Cerutti SA – France), Ludovic Cerutti (Cerutti Morocco)
Phil Meaux (Littleton Group – USA), Charles Lowe (Lowe & Cerutti – UK)
Pablo Segovia (Segovia & Asociados – Spain), Pierre Cerutti (Cerutti SA – France)

The Insurers instructs his ‘home’ Adjuster secure in the knowledge that his ‘home’ Adjuster is part of a group of Independent Adjusters, ‘local’ Adjusters, who have previously met and worked together and have mutual confidence in each other’s capabilities...

The ‘home’ Adjuster, together with the Insurer, assesses the situation :

Is it a major claim that requires both ‘home’ and ‘local’ Adjusters to work together at the claim locus? In this case the ‘home’ Adjuster goes out to the claim locus and works hand-in hand with the ‘local’.

Is it a claim that the ‘home’ Adjuster thinks that the ‘local’ Adjuster can manage but will need some ‘home’ technical input. In this case the ‘home’ Adjuster gives explicit instructions to the ‘local’ Adjuster as to what should be done. The ‘local’ Adjuster completes his investigations and then sends his Report to the ‘home’ Adjuster who integrates it into his own Report.

Is it a claim that the ‘home’ Adjuster thinks that the ‘local’ Adjuster can manage on his own. In this case, the ‘local’ Adjuster sends his Report direct to Insurers.

The IAIA co-ordinator monitors all the above to ensure that things
happen on time and that the necessary standards are maintained

There are no Members, Associates or Free Correspondents who have not been assessed by other Members in the Group. No-one is an unknown quantity.

As you can see, Insurers need go no further than their ‘home’ Adjuster. There is no chief – subordinate relationship amongst IAIA members, they are all team-leaders for their own clients.

We list in the following pages our current Members, Associates and Free Correspondents. There is no difference in the method of treatment or of working between Members, Associates and Free Correspondents. The distinction is simply an administrative classification.
